How to create a successful Fashion and Textiles Collection?

Like most spoken, written and visual language, the language of clothes is constantly changing. New ideas and phenomena demand not only new words, imagery, but also new silhouettes. At its most basic, the collection is one of the most important marketing assets of a designer/company/brand, irrespective of size, type of business or industry. The collection allows the freedom to negotiate a brief on an individual basis to reflect the nature and emphasis of the concept. It requires the designer to research often looking at the past, the present and the future. Analysis of current global market trends, lifestyle/cultural, technology and ethical issues, are some of the essential components required to present an informed and relevant approach to contemporary design practice.

The workshop/presentation will focus on how to build a final collection. It will outline the essential elements required to present an informed and relevant approach to contemporary design practice. 


    和大多数的口语、书面语和视觉语言一样,服装的语言也在不断变化。新思想和新潮流不仅仅对语言和想象力有了新的要求,对轮廓也有了新的需求。究其本质,时装系列对于一个设计师、公司、品牌来说,无论其规模、业务类型或行业如何,都是最重要的营销资本之一。时装系列是自由的 ,它允许在个人的基础上向大众简要表达某个主题的本质和重点。这就要求设计师从过去,现在和将来的角度做大量的调查研究。对现代全球市场的走向、生活方式、文化、科技以及伦理问题进行分析,这都是呈现一种有根据并中肯的现代设计方案所必不可少的组成部分。

    此次讨论会/演示将集中讨论如何创作毕业系列,同时也会介绍在现代设计实践中需要有哪些基本的要素才能让作品具有见地和切题。
